Prefilled tube kits for BeadBug homogenizers

The prefilled tubes are ideal for use with the BeadBug homogenisers and are compatible with most other homogenisers. The tubes are ready to use and available materials of Silica (glass), triple-pure zirconium, stainless steel, or mixed formats in 6 different sized diameters. Efficient bead homogenisation depends on several factors, particularly the size of the beads and their composition.

Silica (Glass) beads: Acid-washed and heat-treated to remove contaminants, nuclease- and protease-free.

Triple-pure zirconium beads: Certified nuclease- and protease-free, tested by qPCR to be free of stray DNA. 6mm satellites are acid-washed and heat-treated, but not certified.

Stainless steel beads: High density for harder samples, or for dry grinding. They are alcohol-washed and heat-treated to remove contaminants, nuclease-free.

Applications:

• 0.1mm ⌀ - Gram positive and negative bacteria.
• 0.5mm ⌀ - Bacteria, fungi, spores, moulds and small yeasts
• 1.0mm ⌀ - Fungi, spores, algae and larger yeasts
• 1.5mm ⌀ - Soft tissues such as adipose and liver, small insects
• 3mm ⌀ - Harder tissues such as heart and lung, tumour samples
• 6mm ⌀ - Very hard tissues such as seeds, dry grinding, hair
